July DC Report

Thank you to everyone who has warmly welcomed me into the role of DC for your Club. I look forward to meeting all the riders, families and ponies who belong to thClancyis great Club. My daughter Sarah has been a member with the club for a year now and I am still meeting new families each rally. I will endeavour to meet everyone at this rally, but please feel free to introduce yourselves and remind me regularly of you and your ponies names.
We will be having a monthly DC chat each rally at 12.45 in the clubrooms, which will enable me to update you with any upcoming clinics/events, touch on any relevant issues regarding groups, camps! and pony welfare as well as a chance to get to know you better.
Andrea Barton has kindly offered to stay on as Assistant DC which is wonderful for the club. Thanks goes to Andrea for all the time and care she has put into building a great club. Please feel free to approach me with any questions/queries.
Remember to check our website for updated information and enter your results on our events results diary. This information is used to tally our champion riders at the end of the year. The PCAV and North Metro website are also great sites listing all upcoming events and a great place to check competition rules.
Congratulations to all our riders who have been out and about. A special mention to Samantha Reardon who attended her first event at Eltham Dressage Day. Well done Samantha. Please forward me any pictures and results as I would love to hear how everyone is going and if possible watch you compete. My mobile is 0404 861 715
Don’t forget our Winter Woollies Gymkhana on July 20th. It will be a great day with a ring suitable for every rider. Come along and have some fun with your ponies.
Kylie Christian will be taking some new photographs for our website at the August rally. Please try to attend with clean faces and ponies! You never know who will ap-pear on the site.
We will be starting the rallies with a gear check on the top arena at 9.30 sharp. Please join your group so your instructor can complete the gear check and make sure every-one is safe. If you are late please DO NOT join your group until you have had a gear check. Please see me and I will arrange that for you. This will enable the lesson to run smoothly without the instructor having the stop the whole group for an individual gear check.
Being fee time the PCAV requires all members to be financial BEFORE they ride at the July rally. You are not covered by insurance otherwise. We can process any fees on the day of the rally but this must be done before you mount. You are welcome to attend the rally unmounted if there is an issue with fee payment.
Tip of the month: remember to check your ponies hooves daily. This time of year thrush, mudfever and separation can be problems. Apple cider vinegar is great sprayed on thrush and Vaseline or zinc cream (nappy rash cream) for mudfever.
Love your ponies
